What AHK-Cu is
GHK-Cu, the better-known copper peptide, is its close cousin. They share the idea of a short peptide carrying copper but differ in their amino acids, which is enough to make them separate compounds.
Its research is hair and cosmetic research in the lab, and it is sold here as a research compound. Everything known about it comes from human hair follicles studied in a dish.
The one AHK-Cu study
In 2007, researchers kept human hair follicles alive in a dish, added AHK-Cu, and measured how long the follicles grew and how the cells at the hair root multiplied. Those root cells are dermal papilla cells, the ones that steer hair growth.
Our search found no other study of AHK-Cu: no animal study, no human trial and no second lab study. The one study it has dates from 2007, nearly 20 years ago.

Why GHK-Cu results do not count here
Because the two are cousins, it is tempting to borrow the much larger body of GHK-Cu research for AHK-Cu. That would not be honest: a different set of amino acids makes a different molecule, and AHK-Cu has to stand on its own single lab study.
Follicles in a dish are an early lab setting, not a living scalp. If a seller describes AHK-Cu with GHK-Cu's skin research, that is borrowing, not evidence.
